How to Clear a Loved One's House After a Bereavement
Clearing the home of someone you love is rarely just a practical task. Every drawer and cupboard holds a memory, and the whole job can feel overwhelming when…
Prices
Our pricing is simple and fair. Here is what goes into a quote, what can change it, and how to get an accurate figure for free.
We do not publish a price list, because no two clearances are the same. Instead, we give you a free, no-obligation quote for your specific job. This page explains how that quote is worked out so you can see it is fair.
Our fee is simple and covers the real costs of doing the job properly: staff wages, fuel and recycling-centre fees. Each of our vans holds about 1.5 tonnes, which is roughly the same as four 8-yard builder's skips. If there are too many items for one van trip, a second load costs 50% of the fee, which covers the extra recycling-centre costs involved.
| Job size | Typical van loads |
|---|---|
| Single items | Usually well under one load |
| One room | Usually under one load |
| 1-2 bed flat | Often one load, sometimes less |
| 3-bed house | Often one full load, and may need a second |
| Large house | May need a second load or more |
These are guides only. A tidy house can need less than expected, while a full one can need more.
A fixed price per room or per property would be unfair to someone with a tidy flat, and misleading for someone with a packed house and a full loft. By quoting each job individually from photos or a visit, you pay for the work that is actually needed, and nothing more. The figure you receive is a clear price for the job in front of us, not a vague estimate that grows on the day.
The quickest way is to send photos of every room, the loft, garage and garden by WhatsApp to 07898 719 509. We can then quote without a visit in most cases. If the property is large, very full or has difficult access, we can arrange a visit instead. You can also use the quote form on any page.
If a quote looks far lower than others, it is worth asking why. Legitimate disposal costs money, in recycling-centre fees, fuel and wages. A company that cuts corners may dump waste illegally, and you could be held responsible. Always ask for waste carrier details, which we are happy to show on request, and read our guide to responsible disposal for more.
We will confirm payment options with your quote. For help with the process, see how it works or get in touch.
FAQs
Yes. Every quote is free and carries no obligation. Send photos by WhatsApp to 07898 719 509 or use the quote form, and we will respond with a clear figure. If the job is complex, we may suggest a visit so the quote is accurate.
The fee covers staff wages, fuel and recycling-centre fees. That means the team, the van, the loading and the responsible disposal of what we take. We will explain exactly what is included when we send your quote, so you know what to expect.
If there are too many items for one van trip, we make a second trip. A second load costs 50% of the fee, which covers the additional recycling-centre costs. We will flag this early in your quote wherever the photos suggest it may be needed.
In most cases, yes. Clear photos of every room and any outbuildings let us give an accurate quote. For very large, full or awkward properties, a visit may be recommended. Either way there is no charge for the quote. If you have any other questions, call or WhatsApp 07898 719 509 and we will be glad to help.
We aim for the quote to be the price, provided the job matches the photos and description. If items we did not know about appear, or access is very different, we will talk to you before going ahead rather than surprise you afterwards.
It can help. Selling or donating good furniture, antiques or other valuables first means fewer items to clear, which may reduce the volume and so the quote. We cannot promise any particular saving, but it is worth considering. Our team is happy to talk through your situation and suggest the simplest way forward.

Big vans, fewer trips
Our vans carry around 1.5 tonnes of household items – about the same as four 8-yard skips. No skip permits, nothing left on your drive, and we do all the lifting.
