Rubbish has a way of building up. A few bags in the hallway become a pile in the garage, then a corner of the garden that nobody wants to look at. Our rubbish removal service is for exactly this: household junk, bagged waste and bulky items that are too much for the bin and too awkward for a trip to the tip.

What we take

We can take most things you would find in and around a normal home. Typical loads include:

  • Bin bags and boxes of general household waste.
  • Broken or unwanted furniture, mattresses and carpets.
  • Old appliances, where they have standard connections we can disconnect.
  • Rubbish left after a move, a refurbishment or a clear-out.
  • Garden waste, old fencing and shed contents.
  • Bulky waste that the council collection will not take, or only after a long wait.

We will even clear out food from kitchen cupboards and freezers if you need it.

What we cannot take, and how we will advise

Some waste is hazardous and must be handled by specialists. That includes asbestos, and certain chemicals, gas cylinders and similar materials. We do not take hazardous waste ourselves, but if you suspect something falls into this category, tell us. We will advise you on sensible next steps and, where we can, point you to the proper route. For general guidance on household waste, the GOV.UK waste pages are a useful reference.

How it works

Getting started is quick. Send photos of the rubbish by WhatsApp, or call us, and we will give you a free quote. We like at least 48 hours' notice, though most customers book a week or two ahead. If your need is urgent, such as a landlord inspection or house sale, call us and we will do our best to help.

We aim to arrive at 9am. Our team does all the carrying and loading, so you do not need to lift a thing. We will take rubbish from inside the house, from the garden, garage or loft, wherever it is. If you will not be at home, we can collect keys from a solicitor, estate agent or neighbour and return them afterwards. See the full process on our how it works page.

Where your rubbish goes

We do not just tip and run. We sort everything as we load. Items that still have life in them are donated to charity or reused. Metals and other materials are recycled, and what remains is taken to licensed recycling centres and waste facilities. We aim to recycle or donate as much as possible, and we are happy to explain exactly what happens. Read more about responsible disposal.

The charities we support include Children North East, Barnardo's, St Oswald's Hospice, Butterwick Hospice, the British Heart Foundation and Mind.

People call us for all sorts of reasons: the leftovers after a DIY project, a tenant's abandoned belongings, a shed that finally has to go, or a garden covered in cuttings and broken fencing. Whatever the story, there is no need to feel embarrassed about how much has built up. We have seen it all before, and we simply get on with clearing it.

Simple pricing and a reputable service

Our pricing is easy to follow. It covers staff wages, fuel and recycling-centre fees, so there are no hidden extras. Each van holds about 1.5 tonnes, roughly the same as four 8-yard builder's skips, which is far more than most people expect from one visit. If your rubbish is too much for one trip, a second load costs 50% of the fee to cover the additional recycling-centre costs.

No obligation, free quotes. See the prices page to learn how we calculate things.

Unlicensed waste removal is a real problem, and the householder can be held responsible if rubbish ends up fly-tipped. Whoever you choose, check that they are a licensed waste carrier. We are part of the 5 Star House Clearance group and are happy to show our waste carrier details on request.

Where we work and related services

We collect rubbish across the whole of North East England. You will find local information for Newcastle, Gateshead, Washington, Hartlepool and Cramlington, among many others on the areas we cover page.

If your waste is mostly large pieces, our furniture removal service may be a better fit. For a full property, see house clearance, and for the garage, garage clearance.

Call 07898 719 509 or send photos by WhatsApp for a free, no-obligation quote, and we will get the rubbish gone.

FAQs

Rubbish Removal – your questions

What kinds of rubbish can you remove?

We take most household junk: bagged waste, boxes, old furniture, mattresses, carpets, appliances with standard connections, garden waste and bulky items. We do not take hazardous waste such as asbestos. If you are unsure whether something qualifies, send a photo and we will advise you.

Can you take asbestos or chemicals?

No. Asbestos and other hazardous materials need specialist handling and we do not collect them. If you think you have some, do not disturb it. Tell us when you ask for a quote and we will advise you on what to do next. GOV.UK has general guidance on waste.

Do I need to bag or sort the rubbish first?

No. We will load it for you, whether it is bagged, loose or piled in a garage. We sort everything as we go so that usable items can be donated or reused and materials recycled. If you want to set anything aside to keep, just point it out before we start.

How much rubbish can one van take?

Each van holds about 1.5 tonnes, which is roughly the same as four 8-yard builder's skips. That covers most household clear-outs in one trip. If there is more than one van can carry, a second load costs 50% of the fee. We will explain this clearly when we quote.

How do I get a quote?

Send photos of the rubbish by WhatsApp to 07898 719 509, or call us. Quotes are free and carry no obligation. We like at least 48 hours' notice, although most people book a week or two ahead, and we aim to arrive at 9am on the day.
